Westerville City Schools families are invited to attend a presentation about internet addiction and social media’s impact on mental health 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11 at the Minerva Park Middle School gym.

All across Westerville City Schools, students are stepping into their school media centers to dive into stories, collaborate with each other and receive a variety of lessons that help them navigate a world where information is everywhere. 

It was the first week of school and the eighth-grader at Minerva Park Middle School demanded to know why she was placed in Success Center — a new class created to help middle and high school students catch up on literacy and math skills this year. 

Artwork created by eighth-graders across the District’s middle schools will be featured in a special art exhibition as part of the Westerville Public Library’s Wizards and Wands Festival.

Students from four WCSD schools — Minerva Park Middle School and Cherrington, Pointview and Minerva France elementaries — discovered how instruments create unique sounds, how composers craft stories with melody and rhythm and how music travels through waves and vibrations in the air as part of the Sound Lab Symphony concert Wednesday at the Ohio Theatre.

Minerva Park Middle School’s new mobile flight simulator took its first expedition this week — a project designed and created by students.
